Fuel Supply & Logistics Intern

  1. I was in charge of monitoring the fuel supply & logistics database. I would monitor the overall fuel shipments and fuel totals at every Wawa fuel store throughout the country, as well as identify potential problems and offer solutions to those issues.
  2. I would enter allocation amounts daily for the fuel team in order to get their daily buy plan ready for each day/night. The buy plan was sent out every night to every fuel carrier that made deliveries to the Wawa stores. This plan would state what to deliver, when to deliver it, and where to pickup/deliver it. My role was extremely important to the overall execution of the delivery process.
  3. I learned a lot about how a successful business operates on a daily basis. I noticed a lot of what I learned inside the classroom was being used in the office at Wawa. MIS 3535 taught me a lot about project management and about how a successful team operates. Being apart of the fuel team at Wawa, I was able to see why their team is so successful. I was also given the chance to implement what I learned in the classroom in a corporate setting. By analyzing their processes and their overall team engagement, it was easy for me to identify a successful team. I was lucky to not only learn about how a successful team operates, but be apart of one as well.
