Improving Your Leadership Communications
Title of the activity: Improving Your Leadership Communications
Term of the activity: Fall 2021
Name of sponsoring organization: LinkedIn Learning
Details of the activity (e.g., where, when): Leadership Communications and Professional Development course targeting managers leading teams in-person and virtually.
What you learned: I learned that, as a leader, one is always being observed and that it is imperative that the leader must make it about their team – always, to communicate clearly and often, make the team feel safe and heard, and follow through with what they tell people, daily.
How the activity relates to coursework or your career goals:
I am a leader and have always taken up leadership positions throughout my life because I possess strong intrinsic motivations which empower me to help other people improve their lives and become better people. However, I am not perfect and believe that it is important that I learn or refresh myself on leadership skills/knowledge. Leadership and managing teams are not easy responsibilities, therefore, I take it upon myself to make sure that I am improving myself as a leader so that I can do my job and do it well.
