An Audience with Ben Hasan
I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Ben Hasan, a Walmart executive who grew up in the neighborhood Temple students now call home.
Ben not only grew up in North Philadelphia, he is also proud to call Temple University his alma mater. Before his breakthrough in the tech industry, Ben was blue collar worker for a real estate company.
Prior to joining Walmart, Ben was the Vice President of Information Technology at Dell. He transitioned into Walmart as the Vice President of People Systems, and after 3 years was promoted to the Senior Vice President of IT Strategic Services.
Listening to Ben talk about his life was nothing short of inspiring. It’s not often I get the chance to hear from somebody who was once, what Temple students like to refer to as, “a local,” who ended up becoming an executive of the largest global retailer and Fortune 1 company. Every MIS professional and student can learn something from listening to Ben’s story. It’s hard to find a genuine person with such passion for technology and innovation.
