Client Webinar: Think Master Data Management Is Dead? Three Reasons Why It’s Time to Think Again

The activity was a webinar titled “Think Master Data Management is Dead? Three Reasons Why it’s Time to Think Again”. This webinar was a sponsored event by Gartnter Inc., a leading research and advisory company. This webinar was presented by Helen Grimster
and Gavin Hicks and focused on the key concepts of Master Data Management (MDM), its current relevance in the workforce and other companies, and other common reasons why these MDM  projects failed. Throughout this webinar, we can see the emphasis that MDM is not truly dead but is thriving through business and other companies. The webinar’s main highlighted points are three reasons why MDM is still a relevant topic in the workforce. These include enabling business agility, supporting sustainability, and the social aspect of these through organizations, from this, we can see that Master Data is one of the most important data products we could have today.  From this webinar, I learned a lot of valuable skills and new concepts about the IT and Data management world, we can see the importance of MDM in today’s largely grasped by data and the challenges that companies and businesses face while implementing these MDM systems. Throughout this presentation, we see the importance and valuable insight into how MDM can be effectively used in these business settings and show the effective use with its drive value. Lastly, the other main point this webinar wanted us to focus on is the importance and continuing need for businesses and IT to be able to work alongside each other to ensure that the work and data needed are concise, accurate, and accountable to the company’s official. From this knowledge, I believe that it will be a useful source of understanding the complexities of data management and the strategies needed to overcome them in the IT career field I want to succeed.
