Artificial Intelligence for Cybersecurity

I completed a Linkedin Learning course on AI in cybersecurity.

My key takeaways were:

AI doesn’t change the entire foundation of cybersecurity, but it will enhance and heavily alter many aspects of cyber, such as threat detection. I also learned how AI and Machine Learning differ in uses for cybersecurity: AI can be used for things like intrusion detection and phishing, while ML is more focused on complaining data to explain information; This could be through regression, classification of threats in network, or detecting irregularities in a network.

This course also covered the limitations of AI. As stated earlier, AI will not radically undermine everything we’ve learned about keeping networks safe from outside threats (at least in AI’s current form). Understand how AI works is critical for a successful implementation of AI into a cybersecurity framework.
