This course was created to give tips and advice for video interviewing. Now being in a post-COVID world, video interviewing is the new way companies are conducting their hiring processes. It is a cost-effective and often more time-efficient way for companies to hire and learn about you. Typically, there are two-way interviews which is where you speak with an interviewer over a video-conferencing service, or you may have to partake in a one-way interview in which you have to record yourself answering scripted questions. Its important to still show parts of your personality in one-way interviews because its typically the first interview you will conduct with a company. This video provides tips on how to gain all the knowledge about the interview in advance, how to set up technology for a video interview, and what to wear for a video interview. It stresses the importance of maintaining professionalism in the way you dress, your background, and how to minimalize distractions. Also, despite being in an online format, specific questions about the job at the end of the interview are still incredibly important. These video interview tips will greatly help me navigate future interviews knowing that the hiring process is likely going to continue moving towards online conductions.
