Learning Microsoft Power Apps

Microsoft Power Apps is a set of tools you can use to build applications. It lets business users build custom applications to solve their own problems quickly. It can connect to any data service or spreadsheet so users can access their data easily. These services are cloud based and use very little code, which is useful for prototypes.

There are 3 types of apps you can make with Microsoft Power Apps which are Canvas apps, Model driven apps, and Portals. Canvas apps in Power Apps provide a highly customizable drag-and-drop interface for designing tailored user experiences. Model-driven apps focus on data and processes, automatically generating responsive designs based on your data structure. Portals enable external users to interact with your business data securely through a web-based interface.

These apps can integrate with one or more of the three types of data sources: connected data sources, local data sources, and collections. Connected data sources link your app to external systems like SharePoint, SQL Server, or other services to retrieve and manage data. Local data sources allow you to store and access data directly within your app, independent of external systems. Collections in Power Apps are temporary in-memory data tables used to store, manipulate, and manage app data during runtime.

I enjoyed the this Power Apps course as it provided a clear and practical introduction to creating apps. Learning these skills will be valuable in my future career, allowing me to streamline processes, build custom solutions, and drive efficiency in business operations.
