Short-Term, Full-Time Internship at Infinity Digital Agency
I hoped to stay in the field of Search Engine Optimization and Web Design and I was fortunate enough to come across Infinity Digital Agency. The owner of the company (also a Temple grad) liked the work that I was doing as well the work that I was putting into my own portfolio. I interviewed with Infinity in the beginning of May and about two weeks later I had my first day on the job. Although Infinity Digital Agency is also a startup company, its owners are very experienced and have worked for other notable digital marketing firms in the Philadelphia area. Because of my previous experience I was immediately put to the task of performing SEO services however this time it was under the guidance of seasoned professionals. My first few weeks consisted of many educational seminars where my supervisors would go into in-depth explanations for what we were doing and why we were doing it a certain way. When asked if there was anything I was interested in learning that I haven’t yet done so, I mentioned that I would like to learn more about server maintenance and cyber security so that I could help apply that knowledge to my school work and vice versa. Max Jennings, owner of Infinity, was a CIS major at Temple and was the IT Specialist at Total Computer Services (No, there is no relation to my previous company) and Alan Moss Law. I have learned the basics of configuring DNS servers for our website but as we are gaining more and more clients, I expect my knowledge to increase significantly over the next several months. To get out from behind the desk, I have attended several networking events with the Newtown Chapter of BNI, and I assisted my boss with a presentation at a SCORE event last month. With WordPress becoming a powerhouse in web design, I have further advanced my understanding of how the CMS works and how to utilize it best. Web design is still something that I do on a daily basis with Infinity and I hope to keep furthering my skills of HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript. During the last couple of weeks I attained my Google Analytics Certification and only need to pass one more exam to earn my Google Adwords Certification! All-in-all, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join Infinity!
