MIS Participation
On January 28, 2016 I attended the IBIT small group meeting with Maurice Whetstone, Director of Enterprise Data Management for QVC. This was a fascinating experience because this allowed me to hear what it is like working with Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Warehousing and Data Analytics.
To sit and hold a conversation with business professions is of the greatest reward. You get an opportunity to ask questions about current project that they are working on. You also get to find out what they do with free time. I find this important because this allows me to see what life is like in their shoes.
In addition, these open meetings allow you to ask questions about where the industry is going. As a senior MIS major this is important to me because it allows me to gain insight in where the market is heading. I highly recommend utilizing all these resources that Temple Fox School of Business has to offer.
