Networking Foundations: Wide Area Networks (WANs)
This course, instructed by IT trainer Jarrel Rivera, provided a comprehensive exploration of Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies, encompassing both foundational concepts and modern implementations. I gained a robust understanding of traditional WAN frameworks, including leased lines, ATM, and Frame Relay, while also analyzing contemporary solutions such as MPLS, Ethernet WAN, and software-defined networking (SD-WAN). The curriculum further equipped me to evaluate critical operational considerations like network redundancy, bandwidth management, and security through VPNs and firewalls, providing me with a holistic and practical understanding of designing and managing scalable, secure long-distance network infrastructures.
