Read Between the Lines: Decoding Charts and Graphs in the News
This online session explored how visual elements such as truncated axes, misleading scales, cherry-picked timeframes, and inappropriate chart types can distort the truth behind the data. The workshop also covered techniques for identifying missing context, questioning source credibility, and distinguishing correlation from causation. This experience sharpened my ability to approach data with a critical eye, reinforcing the importance of accuracy, transparency, and ethical presentation in visual storytelling.
