Careers in the context of remote work
This conference showed us a bit of the panorama of how COVID changes the rules of the game for the experience of working. Basically, some companies had already been implementing remote work, but the pandemic practically forced the other part of the population to do their work from home. One of the ideas that Larry raises is that there will no longer be business trips because this new reality led companies to realize that it was much more profitable to do so by zoom. Also, he says he doesn’t see much of a future for the real-state industry, which I disagree with, because while we won’t be moving around as often for work issues, we’ll still have to look for smart homes that fit our new life of remote work.
