Panel Discussion – Cyber Risk, Insurance and Related Job Market
The panel discussion was about the value of insurance and risk management with IT audit, security, and compliance. I was able to learn more about cyber insurance and the importance of implementing cyber security in companies to reduce financial risks due to the vulnerability that comes with data that can be compromised online.
We have to be aware that the lack of knowledge of how to protect electronic data can have negative consequences for businesses, which can lead to loss of revenue and even customers. The knowledge acquired in the discussion panel together with my cybersecurity class is a great incentive to understand the importance of generating safe environments in companies, and the capacity and responsibility that I have as MIS to promote and share this knowledge in my future places of work.
