Experience
My most recent working experience took place in Cergy-Pontoise, France. In order to get my Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Management, I had to do a three month internship in the commercial field.
I was accepted as an intern in AUCHAN CERGY, one of the hypermarkets of the group AUCHAN. This is an international retail group with a presence in 12 countries. As of 2011, the group had 639 hypermarkets and 2,412 supermarkets around the world.
I was more specifically, the Assistant Manager of the Jewelry Department. This department is composed of several sub-departments, three of which being the jewelry store, the leather goods department and the glasses department.
From April 2010 to July 2010, I was dedicated to improving the functioning of the operations. I supervised four employees and made sure that the daily objectives were reached. My hard work helped increase the sales of the leather goods sub-department. In fact, I changed the way goods were displayed and distributed. Previously, the sale goods were concealed, but I pioneered a new system of organization. This change increased sales because the section was better organized and the products more accessible and attractive to consumers.
At the end of my internship period, my employer recommended me to the manager of another department in the same store. From September 2010 to December 2010, I worked as a Retail Sales Associate in the Library Department. This full time job consisted of managing the stockpile and the department by ordering, receiving and shelving books. My role was also to inform, advise and assist customers.
I ended this job because I was getting ready to come to the United States to pursue my new life goals.
