Flash Research Paper SharePoint

Josh Worrell

Flash research #3

Through an investment in Microsoft SharePoint, our company will increase the productivity of our PMPs, eliminate our backlog of work, and produce a net benefit of $1,846,250 in three years. Microsoft SharePoint is an on-premise server that allows for information to be: stored, shared, managed, and organized on any device with a web browser. Utilizing SharePoint’s interface will allow for our PMP’s to increase their billable hours by 400.

The key capability of SharePoint is the community site which allows for our PMPs to manage, share, store, and find information from our company on any device that supports a web browser. SharePoint allows for our PMPs to seamlessly share information with other employees and customers. This will attribute to an increase of 400 to their available billable hours in comparison to our current system. For example, our PMP’s would be able to show a client numerous project proposal from our company SharePoint as well as update them on the spot.

By implementing Microsoft SharePoint, our PMP’s would increase their billable hours which will create a three-year total benefit of $2,000,250. We will incur a one-time cost of $100,000 to purchase the server and a yearly $18,000 maintenance cost, which results in a three-year total cost of $154,000. Our company will see a total net benefit of $1,846,250 in three years after the implementation of Microsoft SharePoint.
