I worked with Carla, who was an Assistant Professor & the Director of Healthcare Management Programs in the Department of Risk, Insurance and Healthcare Management, to assist Amy, owner of the CBT Center for Anxiety, in improving her business’s operational efficiency through technology. I discovered a mail-merge service for her to use free of charge and both demonstrated and wrote documentation on how to utilize the tool. I also assisted her with encryption of documents as well as researched cloud-based storage that would remain HIPAA compliant. She revealed that her former strategy of keeping client information was one of her biggest pain points, and we were able to resolve this. My greatest takeaway is that there are always way to improve and one should not stay complacent, especially when the current way of doing things is taking a toll on the business owners.
