This IBIT Fireside Chat covered the careers in the context of remote work. This took place on November 18th, 2020 over a Zoom Webinar. Larry Dignan, who is the Global Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Director of ZDNet’s site TechRepublic, covered the pros and cons of working at home during the pandemic. He also explained the fact that businesses may not be going back in person for a long time, and how it leads to many more transitions through opportunities using technology. I learned that employees all over the country are facing a crisis of transition by not being present in the workplace, and finding new tricks through getting work done at home. This chat relates to my coursework professional development because I am going through the same transition by not being in a classroom; I am getting all my work done and communicating on my laptop.
