Audit Assistant
Deloitte is the top professional services firm in the world. This firm has over 300,000 employees worldwide. I will be working in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office as an Audit Assistant in their audit practice. My role in the firm is to assist my assigned team throughout the process of the audit of a public company. We will work with this company year-round as they are required to publish financial and manager reports 4 times per year, three quarter reports and one annual report. During the preparation for the annual report, we test and confirm that their controls are working properly and that their financial statements are reported in an accurate manner compared to reporting standards. This position is perfect for me because it combines both my majors, MIS and accounting. I personally think what made me stand out compared to other applicants was my double major – more specifically MIS. During my internship this summer (2022), I saw first hand how much the team I was assigned to was trying to incorporate more technology and analytic analysis into the reports. As the industry continues to transform everyday, having a background in MIS will help me help the company continue to move forward. I will be able to help more on the side of the IT issues for the audit. The combination of my majors have always been a great conversation starter with professionals at a variety of firms and during my interviews.
