Working with Difficult People
What I learned- I was able to reflect on previous work experience through either coursework and my internships to identify moments that I was required to work through with “difficult” individuals or those who had disrupted work with the focus on honing in on their own ideas. Here I was able to reflect on these situations and diagnose them through the newly learned lenses of being able to empathize with others and utilize new skills and practical strategies to tackle them and have effective conversations with those individuals.
Relation to coursework/career- Through my coursework and career, I’ve been met with situations where I’ve had differing ideas with stubborn individuals and being able to navigate these efficiently and not waste time and or efficiency is vital. Learning new ways to empathize with those disagreeing and learning ways to create an effective solution will prove vital in my future coursework and career.
