Temple University Housing and Residential Life
I am currently employed at Temple’s Housing and Residential Life as a Resident Assistant in the residence hall 1300 where I oversee sixty-eight (68) freshmen honors students. Through this job, I:
- Create and develop a positive living environment
- Promote academic excellence, address student needs, and encourage involvement among residents in a way that supports the mission of the University and the Department of Housing and Residence Life
- Plan at least four core programs which educate the students about diversity/inclusivity, civic engagement, academic success, and personal wellness
- Promote social, education, diversity, health, emotional, understanding and growth
- Assist in the selection, evaluation and training of incoming RA’s
- Communicate, correspond & collaborate with on and off-campus offices such as counseling, student activities, campus security, Planned Parenthood, maintenance, etc.
- Implement and enforc all University and Housing policies
- Collaborat with orientation staff on freshman opening week activities
- Budget and allocate money used for residence hall/floor events
