Tutor and Mentor, Russell Conwell Upward Bound Program
I worked as a tutor and mentor at the Russell Conwell Upward Bound Program from October 2013 to May 2014. The Upward Bound program is a way for local high school students to supplement their education and better their ability to get accepted into the university of their choice. As a tutor, I assisted and motivated students to complete assignments, study for exams, and prepare for standardized tests. I also developed specialized presentations to help students strengthen their resumes, write their college essays, improve their study skills, and apply for internships. As a mentor, I established a relationship with a group of 11 students and took responsibility of their individual tutoring and counseling needs.
