Ask the Expert: 5 Steps to Change the Culture of Your Organization

This was a Gartner leadership webinar led by VP Analyst Christie Struckman and Scott L. Smith, focusing on driving culture change within organizations to better enable digital initiatives. Gartner sponsored the webinar, aiming to provide insights and strategies to help leaders navigate the challenges of culture change. I attended the webinar to seek knowledge and strategies to implement within my future organization. Through this, I gained insights into the steps required to effectively drive organizational culture change; strategies for communication, leadership alignment, and employee engagement. They highlighted that identifying barriers to culture change is crucial for overcoming them. We learned about overcoming challenges such as resistance to change, lack of leadership support, and ingrained organizational habits. This experience of learning from organizations that are further along in their culture change journey provided valuable best practices to apply within my future organizations. Looking at other communities allows us to learn other leadership strategies, employee engagement initiatives, and communication techniques. The webinar ultimately gave actionable recommendations to help implement culture change within organizations and accelerate the achievement of business strategy.
