African American Museum
I wanted to become more involved in the Philadelphia, especially within the art and social justice realm. I visited the African American Museum on MLK day to volunteer. I helped the organization with managing visitors on exhibit three and also learned about Black artists, such as Richard J. Watson. Through this experience and through the exhibit, I was able to listen and learn from Black stories and experiences. Solidarity and intersectionality is very important, and I’m glad I was able to step out and get involved with my local community.
