Digital Directory Consultant
- Job function (e.g., overall role, assigned tasks)- My role at Local Member was to complete projects for the Local Member small business directory using WordPress. These projects included performing research on local businesses, creating directory pages, creating posts featuring specific offerings from businesses and creating guides/blog posts leveraging our tagging architecture.
- Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished)- Some specific examples of the projects that I worked on were creating a blog post of fitness business that offered their services online so that customers could continue to workout from the comfort of their home. Another example of a project that I worked on, was helping a team of four other interns create a micro directory of the various businesses within University City.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this experience in the context of specific courses)- I learned how to create webpages that are not only functional but are also visually appealing. A lot what I learned in UX Design appeared in the work for my internship. For example, we had to use specific formats on the business webpages and blog posts in order to promote usability within the overall structure of Local Member directory.
