The Digital Workforce: New World New Skills

Organizations collectively spent over $3 trillion in tech investment in each of last three years. Yet growth in workforce productivity remained low by an measure. 55% of CEO’s said skills gaps meant they were failing to innovate.

30% of jobs at high risk of displacement by automation by 2030. 77% of workers are ready to learn new skills to retrain o remain employable in the future.

46% of CEO’s said their first priority was upskilling the workers they already had. Just 18% made significant progresses establishing an upskilling programm that includes soft technical and digital skills. Only 24% of CEO’s made significant progresses defining the skills they needed.

Covid-19 rapidly accelerates the need for digital transformation and creates immediate and large-scale workforce challenges.

Organizational resilience and agility have an increased importance in an unpredictable world. Creating less- fragile value chains, agile organizations and adaptable people are vital.

To stand out, Carlos says don’t ever not raise your hand. Don’t be hesitant or afraid to speak up if you believe you have a good idea.

Wellbeing became a universally high priority during COVID-19. Organizations that focused on the wider aspects of “Good Work” ad are able to communicate at a human level are seeing the benefits in employee engagement.

The transferable skills that organizations need- creativity, problem solving, digital acumen, and leadership– are those that help their people think, act and thrive in a more unpredictable and rapidly digitalizing world. Digital kills are only part of the story

COVID-19 put HR teams, processes and technologies under pressure. Not al of them passed the test. Organizations are looking at the balance of cost and organizational resilience in their HR function.
