Business Intelligence Intern –
During the Fall Semester of 2015, I was fortunate enough to be offered an internship with ReminderMedia during which I contributed to the Business Intelligence team. Throughout the semester, I learned a great deal about how crucial the Business Intelligence Department is to a business. Some of my experiences include:
- Navigating through ReminderMedia’s CRM and importing, updating, and cleaning the data within the CRM.
- Creating and mapping work flow processes by utilizing Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).
- Creating databases and importing data that helps generate sales leads more efficiently and effectively.
- Utilized SAS Enterprise Miner to generate predictive models and help determine the probabilities of churn over various periods of time and by weighting different data.
- Presented innovative ideas to identify opportunities to develop data-driven analyses that would drive marketing and sales lead generation around customer acquisition and conversion.
- Leverage new data to improve the quality of the data that was already in ReminderMedia’s CRM to assist in improving the efficiency of the Sales Department.
My experience with ReminderMedia gave me an invaluable learning experience. My internship came at a time when ReminderMedia’s Business Intelligence Department was expanding, which gave me an amazing opportunity to contribute and add value to a company, and actually see that value reflected every day I was in the office.

Business Intelligence Internship
The ReminderMedia Business Intelligence team is looking for a dynamic and motivated student to join our team as a PAID Intern. This role is an opportunity for a self-driven individual to utilize his or her growing, business and technical acumen to manage as well as enhance business processes and apply analytical skills to deliver creative, value-adding solutions to the BI team. This student must be available to commute to King of Prussia, Pa for a minimum of 15 hours per week as part of the Fall Semester of beginning in August 2015.
We have experienced tremendous growth over the past year, due in large part to our internship program. 15% of ReminderMedia employees were hired upon successful completion of the internship program.
The position will have a role in spearheading ReminderMedia’s initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy:
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify business opportunities and ways to increase efficiency in the organization
- Leverage data to improve on the quality of sales leads by through various methods of intelligence gathering
- Aid in the management and development of the Sales department’s lead pipeline by monitoring, distributing and improving sales campaigns
- Identify opportunities to develop data-driven analyses to drive marketing and sales efforts around customer acquisition and conversion
- Discover new opportunities to improve the business through various different data and lead sources
- Improve and streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value
- Identify and evaluate potential data sources
- Identify, prioritize, and track data quality issues
- Communicate plans and progress with management on a regular basis
- Lead or participate in other projects or duties as assigned
- All other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Strong Excel skills are essential with database experience a distinct advantage
- Experience in business analysis, reporting, data mining, and ad hoc analysis is a plus
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and handle the pressure of last minute requests with little to no supervision
