Learning Design Thinking

In this course, Instructor Randall Elliot who is UX Designer and Technologist speaks about the Design Thinking Phase as well as Applying Design Thinking to Product Design. He spoke bout the importance of empathy which includes truly understanding the user’s and customer’s needs, and putting yourself in their shoes. When you are able to do this you are able to properly design for their needs. It also makes it harder for competitors because you already created the product based on what the customers need. He also spoke about some of the methods used in order to build empathy. He spoke about the usability test which is sitting and observing how a user performs different tasks. Based on what you have seen you can frame questions around who, what, where, and why. This helps in framing the problem as well as identifying the right problem to come up with the most appropriate solution.
