Thinkful Webinar || Data Science vs. Data Analytics

In this webinar, I learned the major difference between Data Analyst and Data Scientist which gave me a greater appreciation of which field I would do more research in. Data Analysts focus on examining data and reporting trends or patterns in collected data and Data Scientists use collected data to model systems. I  was also informed of some of the skill sets that Data Analysts should which are knowing SQL  and Basic Programming and Stats. One thing that stood out to me with Data Analysts is that you MUST be able to present and communicate efficiently and effectively. It was emphasized that you can have great insights into the data but if you cannot present it properly it would be futile. It is also important to note that not everyone you present to, knows the jargon of Data Analysts so it is very important how you share your information and knowledge. Another tip that I took away from this webinar was to try and publicize the work that you have done. When employers are searching for their future employees, they also look for work that you may have done so having your work on display is also very important. It could be showcased on platforms such as GitHub and LinkedIn.
