My Hobbies

Basketball – I have played basketball my whole life; it is one sport that I have always enjoyed, and loved working with my teams. Throughout my years of playing basketball in my community, I have spent many hours with the group of guys I  played with. We played together for six years growing up and all those hours with them made me realize the power of being united. Playing for other teams in other leagues made it clear that chemistry is one thing that has to be developed over time. The development of chemistry and working in unison is very important when on a team in basketball and knowing this helps me to this day be a great leader and teammate.

Roller & Ice Hockey – Recently I have been trying to learn how to play roller and ice hockey. I thought it would be fun to learn how to play another sport other than basketball. One thing that pushes me to get better is the challenge of learning something new. Some of my relatives are very good at skating and playing hockey and playing with them helps motivate me to get better and be more competitive when I play. I am driven by overcoming challenges and learning how to do new things all the time. Skating is the most recent hobby that I have been trying to learn and a skill I am trying to posses. Achieving the goal of being good at hockey one day drives me to go out and practice.

Webpage Design – I find webpage design and the creation of webpages very interesting. I am not the most design oriented person, but I really enjoy working with WordPress and trying to learn back-end development. I love using new techniques and finding the outcome of coding. The most interesting thing to me is the challenge and problem solving that comes with writing new lines of code and how to get the page to look exactly how I envision it or have the database work how it is intended. At times it can be frustrating, but the final product is always worth it.
