Kumon centers are learning centers that specialize in teaching mathematics and reading for a a wide age range of kids. I joined Kumon as a tutor in July 2016 as a sophomore in high school. I went through some training of how to teach kids through a Kumon specific style of teaching. I teach kids from ages 5 to 14. Some of the responsibilities that I have are to tutor and guide students in test-taking skills, note taking, and studying for exams we administer or exams they might take at their own schools. I also evaluate student work and document their grades into the system, and communicate with parents or guardians either of the student’s progress or improvements. I am continuing in this role for the year of 2021.
