Opportunity Knocks: Wisdom from Recent Grads on Jobs & Internships
“Opportunity Knocks: Wisdom from Recent Grads on Jobs & Internships” is a virtual networking event hosted by The Main Line Chamber of Commerce. This event included a panel where recent graduates were able to give an insight into their careers and offer advice to students who attended. As an attendee, I was able to introduce myself and meet several different professionals who work in a diverse amount of fields. Questions were also encouraged and through active discussion, I learned that the key to success in one’s career is to not feel discouraged and to value transferable skills. I was also informed to utilize career centers, and job shadowing opportunities, and to follow up with companies to succeed. Overall, this event was an encouraging and informative experience that will enable me to continue to gather connections and knowledge.
