Personal Journal Entry (week ending 10/10/14)

This week’s status meeting with the Business Analysts was extremely beneficial to the team. During the meeting, we were able to eliminate a lot of ambiguity relating to the project. For example. understanding which lines of the business (Cornerstone, Grand Rental Station, V-Custom) should/should not be included in the creating of the e-commerce site. Personally, I was able to offer several suggestions regarding the creation of an e-commerce site for Somerville. Last semester, our project entailed the creation of an online form used to gain knowledge of the customer prior to the consultation program. For the creation of an e-commerce site for Somerville, the use of a form filled out by the customer will allow Somerville to create a quote and learn a little more about the customer before the customer enters the store. Additionally, I have offered to sit-down with the group (or the individual who will assume primary responsibility on prototyping) to help navigate JustInMind. During our previous meeting, there were a lot of questions regarding the prototyping aspect of the project. There was also ambiguity in what was expected of the prototype. The BAs were under the impression that the prototype had to function entirely, while we assured them that only the functionality they plan to demonstrate must work properly. We will be meeting with our team this Sunday to begin prototyping demonstrations.
