Intro to VR: Creating Environments in VR and Exploring VR Applications
I attended a workshop called “Intro to VR: Creating Environments in VR and Exploring VR Applications” led by Jo Liberman at the Scholars Studio. The session introduced how virtual reality can be used in research and creative projects, focusing on software like Unity for developing VR environments and tools such as Autodesk Fusion for 3D modeling. We also discussed how VR is being applied in fields like education, scientific research, psychology, and professional training, and the broader ways it can change how people interact with information. I’ve always been fascinated by VR from seeing it in media, so this workshop was especially illuminating because it made the technology feel more accessible and gave me a glimpse into the creative and technical process behind it. As I learned more about its potential, I began to see how VR could also play a role in business, from improving customer experience to creating new ways to visualize data. It was inspiring to realize how immersive technologies can change the way we interact with information and open the door to new possibilities.
