Introduction to Data Visualization
I attended the “Introduction to Data Visualization” workshop led by Research and Data Services Librarian Will Dean. The session introduced Tableau and demonstrated how to transform real datasets from Philadelphia schools into clear, engaging visualizations. I learned how different visualization techniques can highlight patterns and insights, and how design choices impact how data is interpreted. One particular visualization that stood out to me was the geographic representation. This workshop reinforced how data visualization bridges technology and business, allowing data to be communicated in ways that drive understanding and informed decisions.
