IT and Cybersecurity Risk Management Essential Training
I completed the “IT and Cybersecurity Risk Management Essential Training” course on LinkedIn Learning, taught by information security expert Kip Boyle. The course provided a practical, in-depth look at how organizations identify, assess, and manage IT risks through structured frameworks and well-chosen controls. I learned how to make informed decisions while balancing a multitude of factors like various risk levels, where to allocate limited resources, and the many regulatory standards surrounding data protection. What stood out most to me was how these strategies play out in real-world settings, where companies use tools like risk registers to organize threats and determine what level of risk an organization can reasonably accept. Overall, the course deepened my understanding of how thoughtful risk management strengthens both technological systems and the organizations that rely on them.
