Excel with Copilot: AI-Driven Data Analysis

I completed the LinkedIn Learning course “Excel with Copilot: AI-Driven Data Analysis” by George Mount, which showed how Copilot can make everyday Excel work more efficient and easier to navigate. Beyond just automating tasks, the course emphasized how important it is to properly structure and prepare data so tools like Copilot can actually produce meaningful results, reinforcing that strong fundamentals still matter, even with AI involved. The course walked through how to prepare and structure data so it works effectively with Copilot, then showed how to use it to format tables, generate and troubleshoot formulas, and quickly prepare datasets. I found it especially useful learning how to use natural language prompts and the COPILOT() function to quickly build formulas and explore patterns, which feels like how data analysis is starting to look in real work settings. It also made me think about how these skills translate beyond Excel, such as when working with tools like Python for more advanced analysis. The hands-on challenges were also really helpful because they forced me to apply what I learned correctly. Upon completion of this course, I feel more confident in both preparing data for analysis and using AI tools in a more intentional and effective way.
