- Details + What I learned + How the activity relates to coursework or career goals: I participated in the Deloitte Consulting Federal Technology Case Competition with Ronan Gleeson and Shawn Biju. As a team, we analyzed FEMA\’s problems with resource allocation and recommended an innovative technical solution with a focus on data management, financial allocation, and logistics. Our product came in the form of a Powerpoint presentation which we presented to a panel of judges (Deloitte practitioners) on Friday, April 13th, in Alter Hall 131. I learned that brainstorming as a group is more effective than tackling a large problem individually. In addition, I learned how important it is to visualize solutions effectively, as this can often make or break a presentation. My future goal is to become a consultant so working with a group of people to solve a case study gave me first-hand consulting experience.
