How to Thrive in the Passion Economy
This learning helped me better understand how those in creative fields that generally make less money are able to find success. As someone who wants a future doing something I enjoy, no matter what that ends up being or how much money it makes, knowing how this is possible is interesting to me. This module emphasized the importance of originality. Doing something uniquely in competitive fields like the arts is important to be on the successful side of this profession. It is also important to focus on appealing to a small number of major, heavily invested customers rather than a broad swath of smaller, less invested customers. Beyond these factors, it is also important to understand the industry, limit the use of technology to produce products meant to be intimate, and avoid letting your product be considered a commodity.
