For this assignment, I was required to write a one-page research paper on a topic we did not discuss in-depth during class. I decided to research big data because I feel that understanding the topic is important for an MIS major. Since I am interested in Healthcare IT, I decided to take it a step further and look for examples of big data that suited my career goals. After researching, I discovered that big data plays a pivotal role in improving the lifestyles of many individuals. It has the potential to cure diseases and cut costs, which could improve the overall patient experience.
