Work Experience

Senior Peer Advisor- Fox School of Business Center for Undergraduate Academic Advisingpeer advisors

I currently work as a Senior Peer Advisor at the Fox School of Business. My job duties include serving the business school’s 6,000+ students by assisting them in creating academic plans, registering for classes, and facilitating conversations with their academic advisors. I also manage the office’s front desk by triaging walk-in appointments, answering policy questions, and scheduling appointments for seventeen academic advisors. Futhermore, I assist academic advisors in new student and transfer orientations, graduation ceremonies, and academic support workshops. This year, I was given more responsibility as well as allocated a raise. The added responsibility entails managing special projects such as revising the FAQ page of the Academic Advising Website with helpful video tutorials and creating flowcharts of the recommended sequences for each Fox major. I also am in charge of working in the MIS Department to assist with daily tasks such as generating spreadsheets of active student registrations and organizing the conference room for events like business luncheons with recruiters. This is such a rewarding job because not only do I get to work closely with the Fox staff, but I am the first to know about procedural revisions to course sequences and academic policies.

Peer Tutor- Business Communications Center

After my superior performance in Temple’s Business Communications course, BA 2196, my professor recommended me to apply as a peer tutor to assist students with writing intensive courses offered at Temple University. I was hired May 2015, and I love how the job challenges me everyday and teaches me relevant communication skills that I can utilize in my future career in the business world. In this role, I conduct 30-minute to an hour tutoring sessions for Fox School of Business and School of Tourism and Hospitality Management students. Because I mostly tutor Business Communication course assignments, I am knowledgeable about how to construct SWOT analyses, structure cover letters, and formulate an effective argument. I critique up to 10 papers per day based on the guidelines for formal business writing including structure, grammar, clarity, flow, and succinctness. In addition to tutoring, I am also responsible for managing the day to day operations at the front desk including assisting students in scheduling appointments, signing in and out of the office, and answering phone calls. After every shift I must submit Report Forms to evaluate each student’s performance which are used by Business Communications Professors and the Dean’s Office.

Fox Computer Literacy Test Coordinator- Temple University MIS Department


Over the summer of 2015, I was responsible for proctoring the Fox Computer Literacy Test. The Fox CLT was a mandatory requirement in order to take the introductory Management Information Systems course, MIS 2101, at Temple University. The purpose was to test student proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). The job taught me how to effectively mitigate student complaints and demonstrate my computer prowess by solving technology problems such as machine failures. My job duties included monitoring the Fox CLT email account and WordPress MIS Community website, processing student grades on a Pass/Fail basis, and organizing the test schedule through the Online Appointment System.

Sales Associate- Staples

There was never a dull moment working at Staples! The work environment was positive because of the relaxed company culture and support I received from my managers. For a little over a year, I worked as a cashier, sales representative, and inventory stocker for the Staples store located in New Hope, PA. I enjoyed interacting with the customers, and, of course, having access to all the office and school supplies I could ever dream of! My job duties included providing customer service support; operating the cash register; selling promotional items, frequent shopper cards, and protection plans for technology equipment; and assisting merchandisers with unpacking and stocking inventory bi-monthly.


Night Manager, Hostess, and Waitress- Eagle Diner

eagle-diner-new-hopeManaging the night shift at Eagle Diner was the toughest, but also the most rewarding job I’ve had so far. The diner was a 115 seat restaurant specializing in traditional Greek and American cuisine. I received a promotion from waitress to night manager after a year, which meant I ran the overnight shift. I worked intensely long hours, but it was valuable leadership experience. The toughest part of the job was the fact that when customer’s complained, I had to deal with the mitigation of those problems, which was stressful at some points. However, it was in this position that I perfected my customer service prowess.  My job duties included tallying nightly cash register receipts of $8,000+; handling opening and closing security; supervising and training 17 part-time workers as hosts and waiters; and assisting the General Manager in daily operations including choosing the dinner specials, ordering inventory, cleaning the dining room, and sustaining the salad bar. I am very fortunate to have held a leadership role such as this because it taught me management best practices. I frequently these lessons during professional and academic endeavors such as taking on the role of project manager in MIS 3535 Lead Global Digital Projects.


Post Graduation Goals

I hope to obtain a full-time position in the IT industry after graduation.  My academic and professional experiences have enhanced my ability to leverage innovative technologies, navigate the current regulatory environment, and communicate effectively with clients. I am interested in consulting, data analytics, and business communications. My long-term career goal is project management.
