Temple Undergraduate Research Forum and Creative Works Symposium (TURF-CreWS)
Temple’s TURF-CreWS is a platform for undergraduate college students to present, showcase and defend their original research or creative works. Throughout the event, a variety of different works from different disciplines is presented ranging from psychology, sociology, to sports and political issues. The audience includes other undergraduate students and prestigious educators.
The event might be interesting to a MIS professional because of the subtle use of data that others might not have realized. The use of data is obviously integrated into biology work because the presenters have to collect a lot of data to derive a correlation from their research. However, even research in other disciplines, researchers have to use some form of data in order to support their claim. For example, in psychological research, researchers use stories and feedbacks from patients, which are forms of unstructured data.
