Temple’s Annual Yearbook
I was ecstatic when I found out that I would become the next Sports Editor for Temple’s Annual Yearbook. Because I am passionate about sports, I was excited to have the opportunity to report on the accomplishments of Temple Athletics. As a Sports Editor for Templar, Temple’s Annual Yearbook, I was tasked with the project of completing 15+ high-quality stories for the Sports section.
To complete this task, I organized meetings with my team every week to communicate important requirements from the Editor-in-Chief. Because of the nature of the project, coordination between team members are essential; for example, when writers finished a story, the photographers should have the photos for the story ready. Therefore, during our kickoff meeting, I make sure to let team members know that honest and open communication is essential to the success of the team. Because of this, I was able to keep up to date with the progress of each story and remove any potential roadblocks for my team members. This management method works perfectly as I can establish an open communication with my team members to enhance the productivity of the group. In the end, the Editor-in-Chief was extremely happy as I delivered my project on time with the highest quality standard.
