How to Speak So People Want to Listen
I did this linkedin learning over winter break to help with professional development. The information in this course is useful for future classes that require presenting and communicating, as well as for my career in the future. The course went over the importance of being a good listener, how to use silence to communicate more effectively, being precise with words, and prioritizing content over delivery. The course also had a RASA framework for listening which stood for receive, appreciate, summarize, ask. It went over how to improve the sound of your voice by speaking from the chest and varying the tone and the 4Cs of good listening: consciousness, compassion, commitment, and curiosity.
