Inclusive Tech: Breaking into the Tech Industry
I completed a LinkedIn Learning course with tech diversity advocate Shawna Curran, designed to empower underrepresented people in tech. The course was specifically aimed at assisting students like me in understanding how to navigate and thrive in tech spaces that are often void of diversity. I learned how to identify inclusive places, create a strong professional identity and online presence, and go into interviews and salary negotiations with confidence. The course also addressed significant issues like impostor syndrome, emotional intelligence, and project-based learning; these are all things I will keep in mind when I go into my future career. This course was a great way for me to solidify my ideas around what kind of environment I want to work in, and how I can be a contributor to a more comprehensive and innovative tech industry
