The cybercrime link from those behind the door (incarcerated) to those in the free world
An informative presentation was given by Dr. Tessa Cole in this webinar, where she shared about cybercrime and its dangerous effects on the society. She insisted that we should know what threats are there when criminals use technological tools to target government officials or just ordinary people like you and me. By doing this, she was able to identify cyber-enabled crimes from cyber-dependent ones which greatly affect public safety as well. The urgency for more understanding about these risks coupled with prevention against them was highlighted during her talk too because it is still not easy dealing with such situations even though they might seem so simple at first glance. What I liked most about what she said though is how much light this brings into an otherwise dark area of cybersecurity – you can tell that there must be something done urgently before it’s too late.
