The Practical Applications and Use Cases of Generative AI
This webinar, hosted by Gartner and presented by Brian Burke, spoke about different applications and use cases of generative AI. I found this extremely interesting because I have played around with generative AI in applications surrounding image and speech generation. However, this webinar presented a variety of avenues I never thought of. Brian spoke about generative AI being used for the creation of synthetic data, halving the volume of data needed for machine learning. Additionally, he spoke about new drugs and materials being systematically discovered using generative AI techniques. He also made predictions that by 2025, 30% of outbound marketing messages from large organizations will be synthetically generated, and code written by humans will be reduced to 50% due to AI code generation models. There are so many avenues that generative AI can be used as an extremely effective tool, and I am very excited to see how it will play into our lives working in IT.
