AIS Mentorship Program
During my mentorship experience with AIS, I was paired with Daria Gbor. She is a senior MIS major, and judging from her experience and knowledge, I knew I was in good hands. This program helped me make connections within the world of AIS at Temple and even feel confident enough to apply for e-board position. I learned how MIS relates to the real world on a first hand basis from going to Career Fairs, and ultimately, Daria helped me land multiple interviews with well-respected companies. I am more than pleased with my experience with the AIS Mentorship program due to the expose and knowledge I received. From Daria, I expanded my network, knowledge, and experience in my most relevant field.
Speaker Series
Over the course of my involvement with AIS, I have networked with numerous individuals including employees from, but not limited to: SEER Interactive, DuPoint, and Grant Thorton. During February of 2019, Ron Carrick came to Temple to discuss his role working with backoffice data and making data readable to stakeholders to align perspective. After his presentation, alongside other AIS members, I had lunch with Ron to further our conversation. I learned not just about DuPoint, but about the experiences he gained from having an MIS degree. I was able to further my knowledge about MIS and what my future holds. I connected with Ron after the meeting and he encouraged me to be on the lookout for jobs with DuPoint because, “We are hiring!”
