Biography of Orlando R. Barone


Orlando R. BaroneOrlando R. Barone is president of Barone Associates, a Pennsylvania-based management consulting firm. He is an executive leadership coach and management instructor at a world renowned business school. He presents on credibility, negotiation and conflict resolution at the Harvard School of Public Health. He has over 25 years’ experience as a coach, negotiation trainer, change consultant, author, and presenter specializing in interpersonal effectiveness, negotiation, leadership and management development, performance management, team building, and training design. His consulting background includes experience in a Fortune Fifty computer company, where he was in charge of marketing and sales team and leadership development worldwide. He has worked in schools as a principal and teacher. He wrote the best-selling text, Your Voice Is Your Business, the 2nd edition of which is due in 2015. His college text on counseling is due from Jones and Bartlett in 2015. He is contributing author to the counseling chapter of Neurogenic Communication Disorders (Jones & Bartlett, 2013), also a best selling text. Lonnie’s op-ed pieces appear regularly in The Philadelphia Inquirer. Lonnie is a sought-after lecturer who has conducted seminars for executive groups and community leaders throughout the USA and abroad and appeared on radio and TV talk shows. Numerous articles by and about Lonnie have been published in a wide range of periodicals and magazines. His work with interpersonal facilitation, leadership, and large as well as intimate teams (teams of 8-12 members) is unique in the field. He has been personal coach and mentor to dozens of professionals and leaders in all sectors. He has designed and delivered numerous global team enhancement processes, in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia, and South America. Lonnie Barone’s training and materials development expertise covers all areas of interpersonal competence and management and leadership development. He has designed, developed, and delivered such training to clients including all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense, colleges and universities, chemical, pharmaceutical, and industrial firms, educational and public sector organizations. Programs include presentation skills, leadership, performance management, career transition training, planning and organization, change and conflict strategies, decision-making and problem-solving, negotiation, interviewing, and presentation excellence. Lonnie developed, produced, and is featured in video-assisted training packages in Presenting, Leadership, Presentation Skills, Performance Management, Teamwork, Communication, Motivation, and Credibility. These packages have been used by such companies as Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Exxon Mobil, The University of Pennsylvania, and the Department of Justice of California. He has been on the adjunct faculty at Villanova University and is past instructor in Training and Development at the Graduate School of St. Joseph’s University, and has instructed at the university level in communication skills, sociology, education, philosophy, and logic. Lonnie received his bachelors degree, magna cum laude, from Villanova University and graduate degrees from the University of Delaware, where he was awarded the prestigious Unidel Fellowship for two consecutive years
