From completing this project I learned a bit more about what supports AWS and also what gives Amazon an edge over it’s competition. I learned that Amazon has constructed and continues to contruct a vast network of mass data centers throughout the US. The fast paced expansion of AWS’s physical backbone has allowed Amazon to quickly capture almost half the market share in cloud services. Another thing I learned about is Amazon’s reliance on physical security to support it’s infrastucture. Amazon locks down it’s data centers with traditional security, while also hiding them in off the beaten path location behind tall blacked out fences.
