My favorite MIS course, MIS 2501 Enterprise IT Architecture, has developed my understanding of technology as it applies to a business environment. During the course, I was responsible for constructing compelling business cases to convince the CIO of an organization to implement new technologies, or tailor the capabilities of existing technologies, to increase efficiency or cut costs. The business cases, called Flash Research Papers, taught me to assess decisions based on the competencies of the technology and the three year net benefit for the company.
